Fan of Snowman

"Winter time comes just a little too fast, summer just flies by on its patient wings..." The first lines of Tommy Bolin's "Sweet Burgundy" (which helps him ease the pain) are representative for feelings that occur when it gets colder and... snowier. Put on your gloves, wrap your neck into a scarf and look forward to spring. That is winter in one way. In another it is time for sledding, skiing and skating. And occasionally for slipping and freezing, especially if you don't wear your winter outfit including these decorative long johns.

Nearby you will find our own version of my favourite cartoon:
The Snowman Holdup. Thanks again to my daughter for colouring my sketch of the mugger with the hair dryer. As you can see on the bottom of this page, the frosty criminal really seems to mean his threat! (Click on the cartoons to enlarge.) Given my boy's latest addition to our collection, I get the feeling: The bigger the kids get, the smaller the snowmen become!

Snowman hold-up

"Hands up or I'll blow-dry you away!"

Wishing someone "A Good Slide into the New Year - Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr" can be understood literally, if you are sitting on a slide going downhill! But then again the cold season always goes back to Snowy, the Frostman, or was it Frosty, the Snowman?

Winter time is snowman time.

Unique characteristics: White skin, dark eyes, cool appearance, just like some humans...

Other qualities include: Can keep quiet while listening, doesn't lose his cool, always smiling, doesn't eat much nor ever get drunk although he has been known to smoke a pipe, has no expensive hobbies, doesn't spend too much time on the computer or in front of TV, got no diseases, stands up under pressure but when the heat is on he just melts away.

When it is cold outside, it also feels good to stay inside and read a book to yourself or to the kids.
Especially, if it is one of those legendary Robber Stories.

"Looks like he's serious..."
